inked.

I cannot count how many people have taken photographs of my only two tattoos in the past.  And now I've realized; a ton of people I know are either waiting for their perfect tattoo, or trying to figure out where to put their "perfect" tattoo.  If you want my honest input: DON'T DO IT.  Your body is a temple.  That's right.  YOUR BODY IS A TEMPLE.  And mine's an amusement park, I had fun.  I don't regret it, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

Now, I've had a hefty amount of people asking me what my tattoos mean, and I'm going to be dead honest.  I use to always tell people that it's "chaos and perfection" (just to have an simple explanation), but I have to be honest.  They really don't mean much to me any longer.  I know, I know; they're permanent but hey,  they've become a part of me (like my ears, brows, nose, etc.).  So I'm only going to be honest once.  The circle; I got this because a few of my friends were getting it as well (friendship situation, not an original thought).  We all got it in different parts of our body, but I was too frightened so I had it done on my wrist.  Everyone has it filled in, I didn't because getting it removed would be a bitch.

Now, as for the scribble...I wanted something to balance the circle.  I couldn't think of anything so I kept scribbling out everything I drew, which led me to this.

Disappointing to hear this truth, I know.

And when it comes to everyone I know who has a tattoo with a significant meaning (for example, "this tattoo represents my love for my mom/dad/dead grandfather); here's what I have to say...

You don't need ink to remember a feeling.  That person is worth so much more than a tattoo.  That thought/feeling/emotion/love is worth so much more than permanent ink.

You can do better.

And if you must, do it for yourself.

I have followed your youtube channel for a while now, and it is so good to see someone with a different perspective about tattoos. I completely agree that people/ideas are worth much more than a ink, and I'm just not big on permanence myself.

Really honest blog and definitely the first person I have ever heard say that getting a tattoo doesn't have to have a meaning or significance and just getting it for yourself is enough. Amazing incite as always :)

wow how old are you 22? 23? I mean, yea, go ahead and make your "uniform" videos and blog about your new lipstick color. But you have little room to give anyone a life lesson, just because you regret your "insignificance" doesn't mean you should make others feel like they should by preaching (obviously you have people that look up to you). If you want to teach life lessons, why don't you talk about trying not to be a spoiled college kid who spends all their money are vapid bullshit like shoes, clothing, makeup. GO FUCK YOURSELF.

Lol. Wtf, people need to calm down. Last time I checked, this was (and still very much is) YOUR blog! And I don't see why you cannot share your opinion on something. It's an individual person's choice to either agree with it or not. There's nothing wrong with maybe disagreeing with what you have to say about YOUR experience (even though you're not preaching, I don't think so anyway), but to get all hostile over it is a bit much.

Anyway, enough of my preaching, I just wanted to let you know that I really liked this post. I've been trying to put my opinion into words and I, for the life of me, couldn't and then I read, "You don't need ink to remember a feeling. That person is worth so much more than a tattoo. That thought/feeling/emotion/love is worth so much more than permanent ink." Amazing. So wise, and at the very least, so very helpful. Thanks for sharing! :) I love your blog and videos.

that anonymous asshole needs to chill the fuck out. clothes & makeup are temporary but tattoos are not, so she's just sharing her dilemma...no need to get pissy. this is far from preaching...if anything, this sounds more like a thoughtful, self-reflective journal entry.

I like your tattoos, I don't necessarily think that tattoos have to be meaningful. I think it's ok for someone to like a design. Maybe some people have this innate need for wanting to adorn their body, as people have been doing for eons. I have several, and though I regret them sometimes, more because of them being an inconvenience, I also feel like they've become apart of who I am.

I could not agree more. If you want to remember a memory, keep it in your mind and heart, not all over your body. Very wise words, at least you are honest with yourself.
