At the Pike Market -- man, I forgot how much I've been craving seafood for the past year or so. We had the BEST fresh crab.
Ari rented out a boat for the summer and I got to stay here for a night. What a life.
Ari took me to this event called "Day Shift" in Seattle and at first I was like "man, I've been having so much anxiety that I know I won't be able to enjoy myself BUT after a beer I finally got my groove back (not like that) and was the happiest I've been in a long long time. Her friend Canh (spelled like the Vietnamese soup, essential for every meal) was like "you're having so much fun" at one point when we were standing in the back and Ari even said she's never seen me smile so much. She's right, I haven't felt like myself in so long.
When we were walking up to this event, I was really nervous and didn't want to bum her out cause these are her friends but man did that change quick. She even said "we can stay for one drink and we don't have to dance." As soon as I met everyone, I felt like I knew these people for years and totally let loose. I didn't want it to end! I kept thinking to myself that its like the Crosby crew -- a community of film school kids who aren't trying to hook up with each other; like a huge family barbecue.
More on Ari -- we became friends cause she used to shop at the Lab (like 8 years ago) and she wore this amazing lipstick from Make Up For Ever and I asked her about it. It was a dark brick red color that she applied without even looking into a mirror (almost like how I'd apply chapstick). That goes to show -- makeup IS the great equalizer among women and that's why I love what I do. We hit it off immediately and then I found out she has a deep love of antiques and thrifting. That was when our friendship really skyrocketed. I hit a deep depression when she moved to Seattle about 6 years ago but I think all the visits and valuable time spent together has really cemented our friendship. It doesn't matter how much time goes by cause when we catch up, we pick up exactly where we left off.
Last photo -- this dude in red was so sweet and I was like "let me take your photo" and he calls his friend with the abs over -- you know, normally I'd think that was douche-y but these guys were far from it. You can't tell from the photo.

Ah..what a cool gang! Friendships that survive distance are chosen FAMILY :) were you emotional posting this? Because I felt like crying (in a good way!) . I'm happy you're happier, we the crew that follow you on YouTube love you!
